Dale Grimshaw

Dale was born in Lancashire in 1971. He studied at Blackburn College of Art and then went on to achieve his Bachelor of Art degree at Middlesex University. He ha his first solo show, Echoes And Exorcisms at Signal Gallery Hoxton in London, in April 2008. This show was extremely successful and Dale is collected by a range of buyers from all over the world.
Dale
won the Apthorp Fund for young artists and then went on to win the
Liquitex Student Award in the USA. He has exhibited at the Academy of
Arts in New York and in the Cable and Wireless exhibition in London. He
has also shown at the Rainbird Gallery in Farringdon on several
occasions and was one of their featured artists on the Artistbank
website. Dale undertook extensive mural work in Cairo. He also won a
large commission to produce the biblical paintings for the Millennium
Church in Dublin. In 2005 Dales’ work was featured in the TV show ‘A
Brush With Fame’. In addition to this Dale illustrated various punk
record covers.
During
2008 has taken part in the Supercans Festival and also Upfest in
Bristol, where his outdoor works created quite a stir. He has
contributed works to several high profile charitable events, including
the Street Art awards where his work was chosen to feature in an
article in The Independent newspaper and on the BBC.
Dales' second solo show, 'Heart In Darkness' at Signal Gallery in
January 2009 proved to be a huge success, as anticipated. He will be
showing again in the gallery in April 2010. In the meantime he is
taking part in a number of important group shows and festivals both in
the UK and abroad.
Public collections include Trent Park, Middlesex University and the London Borough of Barnet.
